Artfinder’s commission guide directs buyers to the “Commission artwork” button on an artist’s store. Buyers then discuss the details directly with that artist. Establish the medium, size, price, timescale and review stages in that conversation rather than treating every artist’s service as identical.
Etsy: evaluate the specific shop and listing
Etsy’s official custom-order instructions distinguish listing personalization from a custom request. Read what the seller will physically deliver, whether the image is a sample, and which changes are included. Use the platform’s messages to record the agreed specification and any approval steps before purchase.

The preview is a design visualization, not a photograph of the completed painting. Confirm the medium, texture, dimensions, frame, revision scope and return conditions for your order. Hand-painted variations do not, by themselves, mean the composition is exclusive to one customer.

Compare the complete order before paying
Record the artwork type, medium, canvas or paper dimensions, framed dimensions, packaging format, production time, shipping estimate, destination charges and return eligibility. For custom work, also record when you can request changes and what happens if the final image does not match the agreed brief.
